Company history

Hello, my name is Mike Stock, Publisher of Aspen Ridge Press. I started this company in 2009 to develop and pursue a longstanding passion for writing. I also have an abiding interest in history, so I thought I would combine the two by specializing in the writing and publishing of family histories and biographies. My first book, Man from Grayling, was published in August 2009. I have since written and published four additional books. (see Publications)

My first two careers

I began a forty-five-year professional flying career back in 1964 when I became a U.S. Navy pilot. Retiring after twenty years active duty, I entered the world of academia, first at Purdue University and then at Northwestern Michigan College, where I taught in the Aviation Technology Department. Interspersed with my duties as a college professor was a four-year stint flying for a large oil company in Saudi Arabia and six summers flying as a bush pilot in Alaska. I live in Sellersburg, Indiana with my wife, Barbara. We have three grown children and seven grandchildren.
